Emily and Jason exchanged vows on a private cliffside overlooking multiple islands and gorgeous turquoise water as their backdrop, surrounded by colorful tropical florals from Rhythm Floral Co.

Jason wore a tan linen suit and Emily looked stunning in her chic, modern gown with detachable sleeves from Harper + Ivory Bridal. They were surrounded by 125 of their closest family and friends who traveled so far to show their love and support as well as to celebrate this wonderful couple’s commitment during their wedding in the Virgin Islands.

During the bride and groom portraits, we wanted to use the breathtaking natural surroundings to their fullest potential by emphasizing the beauty of the location in each shot. As we began to explore Oil Nut Bay on the island of Virgin Gorda, we were inspired by the vibrant colors of the tropical flowers, the turquoise waters of the ocean, and the lush greenery surrounding us.

The sunny skies that we had for the ceremony turned into a dramatically cloudy day during portrait time. As Emily and Jason stood together, with the water and mountain as their backdrop, the stunning views and natural surroundings remained the perfect setting. We realized that sometimes the best moments are the unexpected ones and that there’s always a way to capture the beauty that this world has to offer.

A Party To Remember: The Reception and After Party

Destination weddings are always exciting to be a part of because they offer unique inspirations and opportunities for us as photographers. It’s always interesting to capture the essence of a new location and showcase it in wedding photography.

For this wedding in the Virgin Islands, the ceremony was followed by a reception filled with laughter, so much dancing, and delicious food (including a sushi bar and the best jerk chicken we’ve ever had)!

Imagine this – crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, and palm trees swaying in the wind. The bride and groom are having the time of their life, surrounded by their loved ones. Then, they sneak off for a quick outfit change into their swimming suits and then head straight for the pool.
